I've already said I don't think any comparisons are legitimate ...and I'm not even a Beatles fan. (Who and Hendrix were always my 60's bands).

It's as daft as comparing the relative merits of Bayern Munich and Harchester United.

It's as pointless as comparing the in and outs of Football with Wrestlemania or WWF or smackdown or whatever other garbage-tag they put on it these days.

If Westlife and their kind are to be compared with other entertainers then it should be with The Osmonds, Brotherhood of Man and other such... um ...artists.

I can't see anything significant about the Beatles and therefore hold them with less regard than Westlife. Simply because, they don't entertain me.

Never said I didn't like Westlife, I think what they do they do well - they pick well written songs and perform them well.....they record and produce songs to hit today's type market that they are trying to sell to!

If you read post #73 you'll see I have an appreciation for the art of song writing and artists who can sing a song, and I don't mean just hit a note, i mean deliver a song; this is quite a step up from just holding a tune!

The Beatles were far more talented though. Fact, end of. That's not an argument that needs to be made. It is simply as plain as day! To put that into a footballing context for you; it's like comparing Brazil of the '70s to a mid table Premiership side and i'm sure you wouldn't need to see an argument put forward for the obvious there......would you?!

Which one you prefer though is your opinion sure, but I KNOW which is better!

It didn't evolve into that, Peadar just dumped it in out of the blue. Up to that no-one mentioned the Beatles

In the same way that monkeys and dinosaurs roamed the earth, then God plonked humans on it, and we all evolved from there.
Up to Peadar's post there was no mention of the Beatles, then BAM!, it's all Adam'n'Eveing all over the place, and all the monkeys are like'wtf?' and 5hit...

Is Westlife topping the charts, Sligo Rovers winning the First Division title, and Tabby Callaghan on the crest of something an indicator that the North West is where it's at?

Talking More great Westlife news for ye:

Irish boy band Westlife got the festive shopping season underway in central London on Tuesday when they turned on the famous Christmas lights in Oxford Street.

The four-member group, who boast a string of chart-topping singles including a Christmas number one, switched on the dazzling display featuring 260,000 bulbs and performed two of their hits.

"We never dreamed we'd be turning on the Oxford Street Christmas lights -- it's a major honour," " the band's Kian Egan told the BBC.
The switch-on marked the culmination of the Light Up London campaign which invited people to sponsor a bulb with a minimum 5 pound donation for charity.

The Breast Cancer Campaign, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity and Centrepoint, which helps homeless young people, will benefit from the funds raised.

Didn't Lowlife have a tune called "Wind beneath my wings?"

    http://www.prankplace.com/fdracula.htm

Click on above and press number seven - marked "wind"

    For a much better version.
