    Aib Cup

Bit early yet to be talking about winning it, but in one off matchs Ballyheane have a decent record and you would expect them to progress through the next couple of rounds.

    The Don,
well how you think the top of the table clash will go between yourself (ballyheane) and ballina town will go?

    Ballina v Ballyheane

If games between these 2 sides are anything to go by, you can fully expect a draw. Both teams are very inconsistent Ballina beat celtic and lose to Errris
Ballyheane 1 point out of six after winning first 3 games.

And Ballyheane's first 3 games were against Glenhest, Swinford and Snugboro, what some people might call the favourites for relegation.

    Lower Division

    Joe joe,
Claremorris are very strong this year and will be there abouts at the end of the season.
In 2a, ballyvary are doing ok as are snugboro but you watch out for lacken utd, they win this division in the end.
In 2b, it the tightest division of all with any side at the minute coming through, however i think partry athletic will win it and moyvilla finishing second.

i feel sorry for westport this morning, if they got fanad to replay, they could be playing the hoops in round 2 of cup!!!!!!!

    super league champions:westport
    relegated:swinford and glenhest
premier division promoted conn rangers and ballinrobe
    relegated;crossmolina and ballyvary
division one promoted:westport b and bangor hibs
    relegated urlaur an kilmore
division 2a promoted snugboro b and ballyvaryb
They were pretty good predictions Joe Joe. 9 out of 13 currently in the positions you predicted and the others not far off.

Hopefully Snugboro can push on from here, but I think that next weeks game away to swinford will be more important than the celtic victory. It's nice to get a win under the belt but at the moment, the club are just focusing on consilidating our position in the Super League.

The next round of the AIB cup is on 22 May 2.30 kick off.

    Premier League view...

I think that Ballinrobe will be doing very well to get promoted this season from Division One Jo Jo. It's a tough division, with 6-7 teams capable of taking points from each other. Keep your eye on Fahy Rovers who may improve upon a bad start to the season and be up there in the reckoning at the business end. He said with some bias. At the wrong end, I think Crossmolina will be well safe from danger and it's more likely to involve Mulranny and Ballyvary, who cant seem to kick start their perspective seasons.

    westport points

As i have already said the port have appealed to Connaught, and that might take a few weeks but one would be surprised if they won that one. However they must be laughing at the Super league at the moment with them all falling down in one way or the other, particularly so their arch rivals Celtic who might have too much to make up now. Who will come out of the pack to challenge them is the question now ? Ballina/Ballyheane/Manulla/Erris what do people think ? By the way Joe I firmly believe that the port are miles ahead of any other teams in Mayo and have been for the last number of years even ( dare I say it !!) when they did not win it they still played the best .

J.Collins broke his nose in 3 places(from 1 punch), he will have surgery when the swelling is down. Definately out of the Swinford-Snugboro game.

Does anyone want to start a competition?
Every week you predict a score for every game in the mayo league. If you get the right result(W-D-L) you get 1 point. If you get it wrong you lose 1 point and if you get the correct score e.g Snugboro 2-0 Celtic, you get 3 points. Also if you predict a 1-0 and the score is actually 2-1 you get 1 point for the win and another for the goal difference. You can also place a banker to double the score of one particular match and place insurance on a result you are not sure of.
Correct Result--- No Yes Yes Yes
Correct Goal Diff- No No Yes Yes
Correct Score---- No No No Yes
    Points----------- -1 1 2 3
    Bnk-------------- -2 2 4 6
    Ins--------------- 0 1 2 3
    Bnk + Ins--------- 0 2 4 6

j collins big loss to snugboro

collins is a big loss to snugboro for whatever number of games he out for, i won't mind to be in a competition but wont have the time to run it i'm adfraid,

    Mossy,
yes i bet westport are quietly confident of wining the league now with teams about them losing points, i think erris will be their nearest rivals
