from what im hearing through the grapevine, some big changes happening in the ballinrobe team, heres hoping we can get promoted and start beating these ''Premiership'' Wannabies who think their untouchable!
well said juan pablo, and a club like ballinrobe can list an awful lot in the last few years!!!!!!
when ballinrobe in previous seasons has managed to field a full strength team, theirs very few teams who have found it easy to break them down, rumours about players making a return if ballinrobe make the right decisions and form a structured training session and most importantly the commintment from the players which i have no doubt this season they will, the days of ballinrobe being called a Pub Team will be officially over!!
Wow, happy new year all. Looks like I missed a lot over the last few weeks.
Ballinrobe joining the professional ranks?
Mayo unlucky in Terryland Park?
Another U21 meeting?
Injuries in Westport?
Let me say I hope Westport & Ballyheane can be at full strenght at the week-end.
Hard luck to Mayo in the Oscar Traynor.
Remind me what horse I had in the Manulla race night?
Welcome back Manfred we miss your input looks like an interesting week aheadOriginally Posted by Manfred
good luck to westport and Ballyheane and also Celtic in the Conn Cup
Surly Ballinrobe aren't the first club to consider they are pro's You have the Mayo League pays Leo Celtic pays gavin who's next?
they will be all fit in westport sunday.
And the U-21 is back on track forward thinking, our clubs finally got there hearing and El duce retreated like Custer on his last stand' well done to D Benson for his comonsense approch.
he of course is the farther of the house.and as steady as arock El duce should take stock on how to get poeple on his side.
Ill play if i get the chance, can't be switchin codes every second year. wish ballinrobe all the best though, hope the new year is a successful oneOriginally Posted by Ron Bergundy
How did the meeting go last night. Are mayo back in the U-21s and if so what set up was agreed upon.
From what i hear under 21 is up and running again and that the player train with they clubs though.Originally Posted by The Don
Yes Don is is back and it's all thanks to Donal Benson. He stood up and outlined his approach to the project which had a far more common sense theme, than the convuluted dictate proposed by the league. Now at least the power is back with the clubs although expect a very different interpretation to be put on it by the LMC. At the end of the day I suppose it is worth another try but the basic truth is that if the clubs are not interested then it is a dead duck !!!.
I'm afraid all the indications so far are that the clubs do not care, In fact I would like to know who does actually care - outside of paid FAI employees that is, who have a vested interest in promoting their own goals.
I'm back as well. Things were getting a bit hairy there for a while, too many trips to the chippy over the festive period brought a halt to my gallop back to the forum.
Did I hear someone say that we're gone semi-pro? You're having a laugh mate. We have a decent set of coaches and managers who try to do a little bit extra off the field so we gain an extra yard on it. Hardly the same as being paid for the job and getting a car or whatever Dykesy is on.
On the injury front I think we'll be ok, there's maybe a few niggly ones but every team has that.
Best of Luck to our friends in the 'Heane this Sunday, should be a cracking game.
I'm off to plan how to slip into Celtic Park for the Carew game next weekend (if it's on). What a belter of a tie that will be!
Is Jeremy Dee the new manager of Ballinrobe Town AFC?

O dear, negativity and inaccuracy is not at all attractive!Originally Posted by renovater
Done a little research here, but must ask first, won nothing for whom?
Scored no goals for whom?
Jump ship from where?
And I think you have started a good little debate. Lets list the achivments of managers/coaches of Mayo junior teams.
Its always good to start at the top;
Westport (P.Burns, K.Cusack) F.A.I. Junior Cup, Super League.
Celtic (G.Dykes)
B'Heane
And so on, and lets have a little comparison, and remember, not club achivments, but manager achivments. Include divisional titles & divisional cups,(coaching qualifications), and then, as we have so much insider info, who gets paid and who's managing for fun & football.
Of course we cant accept loose, unbacked statments like the one above, but it should be an interesting discussion!
could someone tell me is it possible to book the astro turf in castlebar or ballyheane for training or are they booked out at the moment for the inter firms leagues,we have started up a new club in south mayo and find it impossible to train on our pitch at the moment
ring jeremy dee at milebush....he"s the one to talk to?Originally Posted by Ron Bergundy
