im just after lookin at this thread and after haering the result to-day between castlebar and ballina with castlebars new manager and his regime castlebar wont be consistent enough for the title this year(celtic lost 2-0)

Oh was it 2-0? I just caught the second half and heard it was 2-1 at the time. Then I saw Ballina score, and Celtic supporters started to leave saying "That's the end of that" and saying how poor Celtic had played today. I really should of asked the score before making any assumptions or posts. Either way, Celtic lost. And I agree, Celtic won't be consistent enough.

Nobody has given Ballina Town a chance so far on this board. They've as good a chance as any with Westport likely to suffer fatigue and Erris already dropping 9 points. Should be interesting though.

hi all,
Yes joe_denilson, it seems ballina coming on strong in title after beating castlebar celtic yestarday 2-0 in dykes first game in charge. i bet westport were smiling with that result after his comment that is westport were getting to semi final of tournament (it could be a final yet) then they (celtic) should be wining it. i think he should look closer to home first. winning the mayo league first would be a start, still only early days yet however, this is great for ballina as they going about their business un notice and good luck to them. the league at the bottom is going to be very interesting too, i bet the boro can't wait to get into celtic next weekend.
yes i heard the same radio programme that say that joe bulter has quit his position as the pro in the Mayo League.
also interesting result further down in the league with charlestown winning again. i think they a dark horse in the cup competition and they win they division too.
what the latest in the westport-carew park game?

i have heard various pieces of gossip about why Joe butler resigned, all of which I am willing to doubt until we hear the definitive official line from the Mayo League. If it is true, and he is no longer involved in Mayo football, it has lost a remarkably fair, reasonable, informed and helpful man. Joe Butler was never anything but diplomatic and efficient, and it was at least partially due oi his vision and dedication that the league was transformed, in terms of standards and facilities, in the last number of years.
Maybe thats the reason I cant find any results on Aertel or received nothing from the Mayo League via email in the last day or two?!! Anyone able to post me the results from yesterday???? Cheers!

I was wondering why I couldn't get any results also. None on the star, none on aertel. Haven't checked the western, I'm sure the mayo news will have them tonight. No e-mail from joembutler either.

yes, this man would be a massive lost to the mayo league and yes, it doesn't look good when they was nothing in the star today - haven't seen the western yet but that is a gaa paper anyhow!!!!! its coverage for soccer is not as good as the mayo news and the connacht telegraph.

i see ye lost to charlestown in the aib cup, thats was a surprise result. had ye some players missing or is charlestown getting the gaa players back on in they team.

We were missing a few players for the Charlestown match, but I think we underestimated Charlestown to a degree as well. They have some good players, including an excellent, tall centre-half with dyed blonde hair who's name I dont know.

If you go to www.soccerbot.com and scroll down the left hand menu bar you can choose between Mayo League and Mayo Youths. However it hasn't been updated since April 10th and it's unlikely it will be now that Butler has left.

I could give Admin status to anyone on their own team e.g Swinfordfc-Swinford, FahyForever-Fahy etc. It'd save me trawling through the papers for Starting line-ups scorers etc. It's simple, just filling in forms. Or else you could set up your own one. Leaguerepublic gives free soccer league hosting.

Does anybody know why James Scott was not red carded for celtic on Monday because I think the referee was the only person in the ground who did not think he deserved one. This is the second time already this season Celtic have been let off lightly as they were no angels in their cup match with westport earlier this season.

Here a turn up for the books!
Westport bet erris Utd 2-1 in the league but in doing so, joe lawless came on for the last four minutes and he wasn't actually sign to westport for that game and westport now could lose the points for this game. The Mayo FA have stated this but Westport have appeal to Connacht FA.

no he apparently resigned over the fact that the mayo league wanted the westport players to be suspende for the junior cup aswell as the mayo league
