When I was in kids school the nuns bet it into me that my surname in Irish was O Geannain but the I found out it's Mac Fhionnain and I'm not sure if Noel is spelt as Nodhlaig or Nollaig?? I believe Hamish is Scotch Gallic for James and since I believe I was conceived in Glasgow - that's appropriate.
