There is no chance of the groundshare happening unless something major happens

Your all reading too much into things at the moment, I'll wait for the press release tonight before I comment either way.

this isnt a news story, its in the Legal Notices section on page 33 of the Irish Times, from the Revenue lads in Llimerick who do all the revenue dirty work.

Shelbourne's trading company have a winding up order and we are reading too much into it. Is there anyone in Tolka Park with a sense of reality or are you all this deluded

The facts are basically as follows -

    (a) Accolade Limited have had a winding-up petition served on them.
    (b) Accolade Limited are registered in Tolka Park, have Oliver Byrne (and one or two others) as directors and shareholders and trade as Shelbourne FC (a search on the CRO will reveal this).
    (c) If the winding-up order is successful, a liquidator would be appointed who would have to (a) stop the company trading to safeguard the existing creditors from further losses and (b) sell all its assets to pay off as much of the debts as possible. Shels FC would have to reform - AFC Shelbourne in effect - and re-apply for league status (they'd probably get straight into the Premier under marketability and John-Delaney-friendliness criteria...). Ollie - and the other directors - would quite possibly be restricted at least, and banned as acting as a director if this is serious enough (and continuing trading as a company when you know it's insolvent is an indictable offence), which would mean Ollie could (nominally) take no part in the new Shels.
    (d) The directors will have known about this for a long time and will have been in talks with Revenue. They'll also have had previous agreements with Revenue over payments of late tax - usually on an instalment basis (i.e. take the tax you owe and agree to pay it off in ten monthly direct debit payments).
    (e) Revenue will have given Shels every chance to show they can get out of this. They don't want to liquidate companies - it's bad for the economy and it means they won't get any tax in future. If they're serving a petition, it means they don't believe Accolade Limited is in a position to continue trading.

Unfair to Higgins who is at least trying to find out whats happening.

Agree with the general point though.

Chippie andPete's point about licensing is the most pertinant in footballing terms.

If they would have known as much in advance as Pineapple says (and I trust him being an accountant) about these financial irregularities, difficulties or whatever, how the hell did they get the licence? In Slovenia a few years ago, the football association the NZS, told all clubs in this type of situation to feck off and the 5th placed team ended up in the UEFA Cup and even lower in the Inter Toto. Shels should have no right to compete in the Inter Toto in this state, let alone our league. That's if club is connected to Accolade as is believed.

It definitely is connected. There is absolutely no doubt about that. Looko at the link Peader posted. According to the Dept. of Enterprise, Trade and Employment it is "Accolade Ltd trading as Shelbourne FC"

It was more of a disclaimer than anything in case I put my foot in it.

I assume the work permit is Ndo's?

Nobody is posting any reasons as to why this has happened.

Ollie did state last season he would not pay a cent more to the tax man on the grounds of what Shamrock Rovers got away with. Now rightly or wrongly Im not convinced as of yet that all this is out of Ollies hands.

I think morally what Rovers got away with was shocking (please dont open the debate up again) but I am sure Ollie would have no problems doing what is best for shels and he wouldnt give two hoots how he does it.

Could be all wrong and shels are screwed but on the information we have to date its hard to understand why this has come about.

Reckon Ndo would have acquired EU citizenship somewhere along his meandering career path. Maybe it's Ollie Cahill or Kearney who require work permits, vaccination records etc.

It's for Greg O'Halloran or course.
Liam Kearney has a student visa so he doesn't need a work permit.

Seriously though, the reason this isn't in the news is because the press haven't had a chance to get their heads round it since none of them are as sharp as our boy chippie0001.

what Rovers did last year was morally wrong but legally ok.

The revenue are looking to wind up accolade Ltd because presumably the revenue are owed a fortune by Accolade.

Well it not like half these journo actually come up with something themselves, filthy low-life some of them. Of course they'll be thrawling the net trying to piece all this together, parasites !!
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

You'd think with all the clever legal minds we have on here that we'd also have someone with a scanner and a copy of the Irish Times.
City definetly have the best bands playing at half-time.

Course not. The defining characteristics of geeks are that A: They don't know they're geeks and B: They only associate with other geeks.
