Dolan turned down Shels job?

One of the papers at the weekend reported that Pat Dolan had turned down the Shels job when offered to him by Ollie last week.
He wants to concentrate on his media commitments supposedly.
Wonder how many have turned it down?
Ollie will end up turning to Roddy.

I remember talking to Dolan at a game. There was a managerial vacancy at the time (forget which) but he had no interest in it - said he really enjoys the media work and prefers to stick at that.

Dolan has a much easier job in the media. Why would he leave it for a cash starved club?

He was supposed to be looking at Limerick for a while.............sensibly didnt get involved.

Even if he wasn't - at least he can have a degree of confidence in actually seeing a wage out of Setanta.......

Any truth in the rumour Ollie invested all Shel's money in that Farepak company over in Britain....?

I can't believe he wanted to stay on at Setanta. He's far from an entertaining regular. He'd be good to have on every once and a while but I really feel he's not up to the task of being a full-time media worker.

God help us when the Setanta Cup rolls around again and we have to watch him hosting the show...

IIHC last night on the RTÉ news, Wallace said he won't be bringing anyone in and he'll do the job himself.

I think Pat is looking healthier than he has done in a very long time and the TV work is obviously suiting him. He gets too involved in football when he's with a club so he's better off avoiding the stresses of management in Irish football.

The clubs are better off too. He’s lost a ton of weight (literally) and he’s always come across well on TV so good luck to him

I saw Pat Dolan down in Wexford last week with Wallace. I also was told that he was there a few times during last week. Wonder will he have anything to do with the Wexford team if they get in.
