    Aer Lingus

Saw this in the news today:
    http://www.rte.ie/news/2010/1005/aerlingus.html

Am I right in thinking that 850 hours a year, broken into 7 hour days, is 121 days. Equates to 10 days work a month. And that's 7 hour days!

    Fire the lot of 'em!

That's incredible. Can't believe it's taken the revenue this long to spot the scam.

It's an arguable case though if they're on reduced terms, and conditions are different. Just because Revenue are arguing the point, doesn't make it a given they'll win.

On the op, I don't know the in's and outs, but my understanding it's not about the hours worked but rather the rostering arrangements. And as with so many disputes it's the company not acting in good faith - as I understand it there was an agreement to have talks, but management broke that agreement and pushed on anyway, and so we have industrial action. It wouldn't be like our establishment media to be spinning against workers/ unions...
If you attack me with stupidity, I'll be forced to defend myself with sarcasm.
