Celtic have produced better in recent years. I can only imagine what Celtic Park would be like if Celtic were winning for 90 minutes of the match.

Been to a few games around Europe and have to say Sporting Lisbon supporters are brilliant
The humour of Celtic fans has to be admired, a cracker was when they were singing to Rangers fans before Celtic's game with PortoOriginally Posted by eirebhoy

Class!
City Fans are clearly the best, we bring 10,000 to every single away game
In fairness, In terms of fans groups I've seen in action
1. Celtic
2. Barca
3. Derry
Cork City: Making 'Dream Team' seem realistic since 2007.
And tell me where Celtic fans have taken one of their anthems from.... Gerry and the Pacemakers..... Don't see it upon your chest bhoys....
Loudest fans in the world ,even if we did lose.Cardiff 2005.(including me)
Everyone will just pick who ever they support.
Anyone but the barcodes. Under 10,000 before Keegan took over, but if you listened to the media you'd swear they were getting 60,000 at the arse end of Division 2 (when the leagues were properly named).
Manchester City, similarly, seem to have got the media to believe their lies. 3,007 anyone?
Finally a special mention to flavour of the month. Midweek games, including European games, woefully attended at Anfield. Or do they copy City and have fancy dress nights disguised as empty seats. But sure, aren't they great, they sold out the big games
If you attack me with stupidity, I'll be forced to defend myself with sarcasm.

If Celtic moved to Prem. league they would only be allowed bring 3000-5000 to most grounds even though they could prob. fill some of the smaller grounds with their fans.
Which is to be expected, because those are the fans they're most likely to have seen in action.Originally Posted by Macy

Not from me, I wouldn't really consider myself a Celtic fan, I'd be lucky to name a starting XI for them.Originally Posted by Macy
I'm basing my views on having witnessed them first hand in their thousands when Man Utd played Celtic in Giggs' testimonial a few years back (and their trip to Seville which I only saw on Telly, but they were impressive).

I would say, in general terms, that the best fans are those who support the lower league teams, the teams in smaller leagues- the teams that will never be on tv, might not even win anything in a fan's lifetime. They're not in it for the glory (not saying ALL fans of big clubs are either). I'm thinking in eircom League terms, the likes of Limerick last season, where attendances were under 100, the team didn't look like winning the toss of a coin, and these guys kept going- thats dedication IMO
Leeds fans are the best ,when you look at everything that we've been through over the last couple of years and the gates that we still get now,we have to be the best and most loyal

'inspiring players such as Djimi Traore'
From the Times. Oh dear god above. Who are these reporters. What have they been watching. I've caught a bit of De Jimi with a few games televised. He's not the kinda lad you name when talking about memorable players for club with such a fantastic history and tradition. He's just not the kinda player to suit a club like Liverpool. I'm fasinated by the history of clubs and they have got it so wrong the last 13 years. Benitez may be doing a great job and Liverpool support was fantastic on Tuesday night but you would think in 13 years they are going to get it right.I remember in Houllier's time if Liverpool lost 3 in a row and won the next he was proud of his boys and they were going places. The dogs in the street could see the team was rubbish.Benitez has got the best out of Carragher, Biscan but there's still much dead wood. De jimi is one for me.
Just a thought.

St. Pauli (and yes I do have a massive soft spot!) regularly get between 15,000-20,000 in the German third division. The singing, noise and colour is constant and this has been the same whether going up through the leauge or back down. Also the humour which they accept their fate of always being in the shadows, the fact that most of those who I have met like decent music and also that when right wing politics was rife on the terraces of Europe they didn't wait for football associations, clubs or wrist bands they demanded that the club take action to ban anyone who brought rascism into the ground. Best fans I have ever met or seen in action.
(Liverpool fans should maybe note about the noise and colour, which is easy to do in a big European match but when the season is falling apart and all your hopes are ending in mid table nothingness in the third division is slightly harder to motivate people for.)
Where am I now? I'm over here,
I've got those empty pockets and I can't afford a beer.
