how many were penalty kicks?
Crystal Palace's Andrew Johnson has scored in more Premiership games this season than any other player. The England international has scored in 17 of his 34 league appearances this term, one more than the league's leading scorer Thierry Henry.
another accolade for AJ

how many were penalty kicks?
Does it matter?
One year in the mid 1970's Francis Lee ( then of Manchester City) topped the goal scoring charts... so many of his goals were from the penalty spot that he earned the nickname 1 pen Lee !
I think they have 12 penaltys in the league, which is an unbelievable total and even man u in their ref bribe glory days of the last 12 or 13 years didn't get that many spotters.Palace will probably still go down and Johnson will be off this season either way i'd say.Originally Posted by SaucyJack

as i stated in a previous thread, penalty doesnt mean goal. ask steven gerrard . you still have to put it down and take it. and besides most of the incidents would have meant goal for AJ anyway as he was the player that won the penalties....he scroed 10 of those penalties
as for dolans waistcoat.....AJ will not be leaving palace
He said he wants to stay. If a player secretly wants to go they:
1. Don't go up to the chairman and ask for another 5 years.
2. Don't constantly remind people that you love playing for Palace.
3. Don't leave when you only want to work under Dowie.
4. Don't snub Liverpool when they announce their interest.
5. Don't snub Spurs when they announce their interest. ( Ok - the exception )
6. Don't keep putting up tremendous performances for a struggling team you know you're going to leave.
If a player wants to go, they'd just not say anything.
Ya I agree with ya there corner he does dive an awful lot.Originally Posted by thecorner

As I say, we're just young & a bit nieve.
Great game to watch 6 goals in the first half. It's very tight at the bottom now only 1 point seperating the four teams.Originally Posted by Dan K

A word on his penalty getting abilities..he seems to be able to draw dubious tackles on himself in the box and make it seem that they are penalties someting that I believe Duffer does outside the box. Not saying theres anyting wrong in it. It just seems like to be the way a player holds himelf. Palace to stay up!
On a side note there's a good article with AJ in this month's Four Four Two magazine in which he talks about not having a boot deal yet, being a boyhood Arsenal fan, his respect for Dowie etc....
worth a read

wonder what the ratio of penalties to Mike Riley referreed games is!!!!!Originally Posted by NeilMcD

on a serious note, did steve Bruce not score 10 or 12 goals from penalties for Utd one season?

Bruce did score a good few penalties one season but I think it was last season that Andy Gray said it or actually it could have been this season after the Rooney one at Old Trafford against Arsenal that Utd dont actually get that many penalties and he had the stats to prove it and they got less then any other team , per games played.
