The Famous Fives

Stars of the silver screen will once again descend upon Terryland Park, the home of Galway United, to compete against local businesses to see who has the best five-a-side soccer team.

Ireland vs. England, Manchester vs. Dublin and Galway, Connacht vs. Leinster, the match-ups are endless! The inaugural event last year proved that there is no lack of football pedigree amongst the stars of our TV screens. Ralf Little of ‘Royle Family’ fame and the silky skills of dedicated Galway United fan Hector O' hEochagáin would grace many a club.

This event has been moved to Saturday 9th September to protect the Terryland surface ahead of the U21 international vs Belgium on Saturday 2nd.

There will be a barbecue afterwards, details to follow.

The after-event party is on at the Kingsvalley Hotel, starting at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost E24, available at (091) 767336 from the GUFC office,
or at the tournament tomorrow.

The Fives start at 11.30am, so whether or not you are going to
Kildare, come up to Terryland for a few hours.

Well done to last years winners, Tom Dempsey Furniture, who defeated
Advertees 4-2in the final.

I actually went to this and to my dismay...NO STARS!!! Was gutted so I had 2 drinks and left. Very small attendance while I was there
