I think it's an absolute work of genius
If only NY Hoop were still here
Anyone else highly amused at the current banner ad advising users to sign up for the Celtic FC credit card and support "your team" given the regular heated discussions on here over said subject.
Made me laugh anyhoo.

It's a Google ad. If enough people complain about it, I'll kill it.
same here.

I can say without hyperbole that the ad is a billion times more juvenile than the Fart Button.

Offering credit cards to some of the people on this board is just dangerous...
I'll kill it in the morning. Can somebody tell me the URL it points to please? I can't click the ads, Google'll give me a right clip round the ear.

I don't know what all this is about as I've cunningly deployed an ad blocker to remove any such distractions from my train of thought. I don't feel guilty about not giving Adam the odd 50 cent because I feel my posts attract people to the site and they in turn click on the ads.
on a different issue..........has anybody noticed that the banner ads sometimes relate to the topic of the thread?
The thread on Dawkins attending mass - the banner ad is for some religious thing, some travel thread had a green card ad, I've seen a few more.
Coincidence?
If not, then who decides it?
Does the fact that I'm asking these questions make it obvious I know nothing about the internet?
They're supposed to, Google spiders the site and delivers contextual, relevant ads.

Glad the Celtic credit card ad bit the dust. Linfield are closer to being my team than that bunch of ''foreigners'' will ever be. And I include the Scottish players in that bundle. Now that I got that off my chest. Why isn't there an Eircom League of Ireland credit card? After all there are 22 member clubs (soon to be more when this A league starts up) and by making it A LEAGUE credit card, Bohs, Rovers, Sligo, Galway, UCD , Derry and all the rests fans might want one.
Of course, because it's a semi-decent idea so the FAI will never follow it up
I let this through again by mistake while twiddling with my AdSense settings, it should disappear again in a few hours, sorry.
